Dr. Vinu Sherimon, Faculty of College of Computing and Information Sciences is the Principal Investigator (PI) of the research. It is a collaborative study from researchers of Arab Open University, Aster Al Rafaa Hospital, Royal Oman Police (ROP) hospital, and University of Illinois, Chicago, US

Project Objectives
- Examine the relationship between socioeconomic factors and illicit substance use.
- Explore connections between dietary habits and drug use in youth and seniors.
- Use deep learning to predict dental issues and assess their prevalence among substance abusers.
- Develop cost-effective IoT devices with AI algorithms for rapid detection of illicit substance use.
- Create educational videos aimed at children and teens to raise awareness about drug abuse.
