Dr. Harith Hamood Said Al Aamri is a Senior Specialist Psychiatrist at Ministry of Health, Oman. He received his Medical Doctor Certificate from Sultan Qaboos University in 2015. He obtained his Psychiatry specialty certificate from Oman Medical Specialty Board in 2021. He is currently working in Addiction department in Al Masarra Hospital since 2021.

Noora Said Juma Al Zadjali is a dedicated mental health therapist with 21 years of experience guiding individuals toward mental wellness and personal growth. She is proficient in using evidence-based therapeutic techniques to address various emotional and psychological challenges. In addition to conducting individual and group therapy sessions, Noora is a professional expert in mental health training and human resource development. She is passionate about community awareness and empowering individuals to overcome mental health obstacles.

Invited talk: Barriers and facilitators to accessing inpatient and community substance use treatment and harm reduction services for people who use drugs in the Muslim communities.


Dr. Qutba Salim Al Ghafri is an academic, researcher, and mental health professional at the Oman College of Health Sciences. She holds a PhD in Addictions Science from King's College London, where she researched barriers to treatment and social stigma faced by people who use drugs in Muslim communities and Oman. Her research interests include drug addiction, stigma, and challenges faced by people who use drugs in Muslim-majority societies. Dr. Qutba has extensive clinical experience in providing care to individuals with mental health and addiction challenges. She has worked at Al Massara Hospital and Sultan Qaboos University Hospital in Oman, as well as in a rehabilitation clinic in London.

Dr. Fatma Mohammed Abdullah AL Balushi

Invited talk: Nicotine dependence (tobacco addiction) among youth


Dr. Fatma Al Balushi is an emergency medicine specialist and medical toxicologist. She currently works at Rustaq Hospital in Oman and serves as a trainer for the Oman Medical Specialty Board. Dr. Al Balushi has a strong background in emergency medicine, honed through her experience at Royal Hospital and Rustaq Hospital. She is a certified instructor in Advanced Trauma Life Support, Advanced Hazmat Life Support, Advanced Cardiac Life Support, and Basic Life Support. In addition to her clinical work, she is an active researcher and has published multiple papers in emergency medicine and toxicology. She also leads the sickle cell disease multidisciplinary team in Oman and contributes to medical education as a trainer.

Dr. Souad Hosni Salem is a mental health and addiction treatment consultant with a doctorate in mental health. She is a senior specialist in cognitive behavioral therapy and serves as the Therapeutic Director of the Shuroq Al Amal Al Alamia Rehabilitation Center, in Muscat, Oman.

Invited Talk: The Impact of Drugs and Psychotropic Substances on Academic Achievement


Dr. Amira is a highly qualified psychiatrist specializing in addiction medicine. She received her doctorate in human medicine from Sultan Qaboos University in 2006. Currently, she holds several key positions dedicated to combating substance abuse, including Supervisor for the Drug awareness and Training section at the National Committee for Narcotics and Psychotropic Substances and Senior Medical Officer at the Addiction Unit of Al Massara Mental Hospital. Her commitment to public health is further evidenced by her previous role as Head of the Mental Health Department at the Ministry of Health.
